Sandringham Hospital
Sandringham Hospital is seeking a motivated and experienced Orderly Security operative to join our Support Services team on a permanent night-shift basis.
This role is primarily an Orderly/Porter/Ancillary Assistant position with additional security responsibilities to support the after-hours security presence across the hospital. We are looking for a proactive individual who can provide operational supervision, support their colleagues, and contribute to maintaining a safe, secure, and patient-focused environment.
The Role
As an integral member of the Support Services team, you will be responsible for facilitating the safe, timely, and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and materials throughout the hospital. You will support the delivery of patient-centred care by ensuring all transport activities are conducted with a focus on patient safety, dignity, comfort, and respect.
In addition to core orderly duties, the successful candidate will provide security support during night shifts, assisting with incident response, security patrols, access monitoring, and maintaining a visible security presence across the facility.
The role also includes responsibility for waste and linen management activities, ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with hospital policies, environmental sustainability principles, and occupational health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
About You
You are an experienced healthcare support worker or orderly with demonstrated leadership capabilities. You excel in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, and can confidently manage competing priorities during after-hours operations.
