Business Development Manager - HVAC

Business Development Manager | HVAC & Ventilation | $110k - $130k + Super + Vehicle + Bonus | Thomastown

An established Australian manufacturer within the HVAC and ventilation sector is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to lead its next phase of commercial growth.

This is a newly created role offering genuine ownership and autonomy. Working closely with the leadership team, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, strengthening industry relationships and helping establish the sales systems and processes required to support continued growth.

The business has recently invested significantly in its manufacturing capability, creating greater production efficiencies, more competitive pricing and a strong value proposition within the market.

The Role:
You will take ownership of business development activity across the Victorian market, with a focus on building relationships and opportunities across mechanical contractors, HVAC consultants and relevant end users.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop new business across the commercial HVAC and mechanical services market
• Build and maintain relationships with mechanical contractors, consultants, engineers and end users
• Identify upcoming projects, specifications and commercial opportunities
• Develop existing accounts while actively opening new customer relationships
• Build and manage a structured sales pipeline
• Work with customers to understand technical and project requirements
• Position the company's ventilation and HVAC solutions against project needs
• Work closely with the leadership team to develop sales strategy and market approach
• Help implement and improve CRM, forecasting, reporting and sales processes
• Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to the broader business
• Work collaboratively with internal technical, operational and manufacturing teams
• Take ownership of sales performance and contribute directly to business growth

About You
Ideally, you will have experience selling into the HVAC, mechanical services or building services market and an established network across mechanical contractors, consultants, engineers or end users.

However, direct HVAC product experience is not essential if you have worked in an adjacent technical or trade sales environment and can demonstrate the ability to quickly understand technical products and applications.
Relevant backgrounds could include:

• HVAC or ventilation equipment
• Fans, ductwork or air movement products
• Mechanical services
• Pumps, controls or BMS
• Electrical or industrial products
• Building products
• Technical construction products
• Other trade sales environments servicing contractors and consultants

You will ideally bring:

• Proven B2B business development or technical sales experience
• A strong network within HVAC, mechanical services or an aligned market
• Demonstrated success generating new business
• Strong relationship-building and account development skills
• Commercial discipline around pipeline management and follow-up
• Confidence dealing with contractors, consultants and technical stakeholders
• The ability to understand and communicate technical product information
• A proactive and self-directed approach
• The ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with leadership
• An interest in helping build and improve sales systems and processes

The package includes:

• $110,000 – $130,000 base salary
