Financial Accontant - Mandarin Speaking

About the role:

Our company is looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. The role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax compliance, audits, process improvement, and project accounting, while working closely with experienced finance professionals and key business stakeholders.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Australian and Chinese financial statements.

• Ensure accuracy of financial data and compliance with accounting standards (AASBs).

• Conduct variance analysis between actual and budget/forecasted results.

• Generate ad-hoc financial reports for management as required.

General Ledger and Reconciliation

• Maintain general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and review account balances.

• Perform reconciliations of key accounts, including fixed assets, prepayments, and accruals.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Budgeting/Forecasting and Business Support

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for company projects.

• Support cash flow monitoring and analysis.

• Provide financial insights to operational teams to support decision-making.

Tax Compliance

• Assist in preparation of BAS, GST, and other statutory reporting.

• Support tax filing processes and liaise with external tax consultants as needed.

Audit and Internal Controls

• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

• Help maintain robust internal controls and assist in implementing process improvements.

• Support resolution of audit findings.

Project Accounting Support

• Assist in accounting for company projects, including revenue recognition and project costs.

• Support capitalisation of project costs and asset tracking.

• Participate in accounting system upgrades, automation initiatives, and other financial projects.

Collaboration and Teamwork

• Work closely with senior accountants, operational teams, and external stakeholders.

• Support training and guidance for junior or new accounting staff as required.

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage.

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in project-based and asset-intensive environments.

• CPA, CA, or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, basic macros).

• Knowledge of Australian accounting standards, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.

• Ability to analyse financial data and provide insights.

• Ensuring accuracy in financial records and reporting.

• Strong verbal and written skills for internal collaboration.

• Proactive in identifying and resolving financial issues.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
