Microsoft Entra ID Security Specialist – Part-Time / On-Call

This is a specialist security role for someone with deep, hands-on Microsoft Entra ID experience who can initially review and strengthen the environment and then remain available when required for ongoing security, access and identity matters. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the Microsoft Entra environment remains secure, correctly configured and protected against unauthorised access. The role will involve an initial security review and hardening of the environment, followed by part-time ongoing support and on-call availability when security or access issues require attention. A major priority is maintaining strict control over who can access company systems, from where, and using which devices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive Microsoft Entra ID security audit

• Review users, administrators, groups, roles and permissions

• Audit Global Administrator and privileged access

• Review and strengthen Conditional Access policies

• Review and enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

• Review sign-in and audit logs for suspicious activity

• Review guest users and external access

• Review enterprise applications and service principals

• Enroll all company devices when required

• Strengthen company-device access controls

• Respond to urgent Entra identity and access issues when required

About you

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID

• Experience with Conditional Access

• Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM)

• Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication

• Experience with Privileged Identity Management

• Experience with Microsoft 365 identity security

• Experience with Entra roles and permissions

• Experience with enterprise applications and service principals

• Experience with identity security monitoring

• Experience with Zero Trust principles
