About the Opportunity

We are looking for an Education Assistant with relevant experience to join a large dynamic team of educators and support staff at Alta1 College.

At Alta1 we recognise that adverse life experiences can impact a student’s sense of self-worth, motivation and capacity for learning, making engagement in a mainstream school setting difficult. 

As an independent, co-educational CARE (Curriculum and Reengagement in Education) School, Alta1 is a Christian organisation that works with students from years 7-12. We provide students with wraparound support to guide them on a journey of recovery through a trauma-informed approach. This approach helps students acknowledge, confront, and resolve barriers that have impacted their ability to reach their full potential.

If successful, you will be responsible for the delivery of the best possible duty of care for each student in light of the values and objectives of Alta1 College.

You provide classroom support.

As a proactive team player, you'll create warm relationships with teachers and students, fostering a harmonious and calming classroom atmosphere. Your keen attention to detail will enhance record-keeping and contribute to a positive overall experience for everyone involved.

You provide student support.

As a creative problem solver, you'll excel in our dynamic care environment, using your flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our students, whether in group settings or one-on-one discussions.

As a skilled communicator, you'll provide clear and respectful conversations, establishing easily understood expectations and offering assistance as required.
