Recruitment and Onboarding Lead

We're looking for a Recruitment and Onboarding Lead to own one of the most critical functions in our People & Capability team, and build it into a genuine competitive advantage for M2P, that the business relies on and respects.

This is a real leadership role. You won't just manage a recruitment process; you'll set the strategy, develop the team, design and improve the systems and processes that allow us to move at the speed the business demands to mobilise a high volume of blue and white-collar personnel, and make sure we're never the reason a project is delayed.

Lead and develop your team.

• Coach, develop and set the standard for your team across talent acquisition and onboarding
• Build a team culture of speed, accountability and pride; that operates confidently and efficiently

Own the attraction strategy.

• Translate project pipelines and business growth forecasts into forward-looking recruitment and mobilisation plans
• Build and maintain talent pipelines before we need them
• Develop M2P's position as an employer of choice in the market: EVP execution, candidate experience, employer brand
• Partner with General Managers to stay ahead of project demand

Drive end-to-end recruitment and onboarding.

• Own the quality and speed of high-volume end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, from vacancy to day one on site
• Make onboarding and mobilisation smooth and predictable; the first day is never someone else's problem

Build the systems and processes.

• Own and improve the ATS (HumanForce Talent) and Onboarding system (Employment Hero)
• Design workflows that reduce manual effort, remove friction and scale without breaking
• Build systems that don't depend on any one person; documented, reliable, transferable

You'll need:

• Proven experience leading a recruitment and/or onboarding team; ideally in construction, resources, mining or civil infrastructure
• A track record of building attraction strategies and workforce plans, not just filling vacancies
• Experience designing and improving recruitment and onboarding systems and processes that allow teams to operate at scale
• Demonstrated ability to develop people: coaching capability, holding standards, building individual performance
• Proficiency with an ATS and HRIS platform (HumanForce Talent and Employment Hero experience is a plus)
• Strong data literacy: you use numbers to make decisions, not just report activity

Tertiary qualifications in HR or a related field are preferred but not essential. What matters most is a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering results in complex, fast-moving environments.
