Coachbuilder / Vehicle Body Builder – Panel & Interior Positions

About the role

Coach Concepts is an Australian bus and coach body manufacturer, building new vehicles from the frame through to the completed bus or coach. We currently have opportunities available within both our Panel and Interior teams and are looking for experienced Coachbuilders, Vehicle Body Builders, or people with relevant fabrication, automotive, caravan/RV, cabinetmaking or manufacturing experience.

Panel team description:

• Measuring, cutting, folding and fitting aluminium body panels

• Bonding panels to pre-built vehicle frames

• Fabricating and installing access doors, hatches and infill panels

• Setting up hinges, gas struts and associated hardware

• Installing fibreglass body components

• Glass installation

• Minor fabrication and welding

• Working from basic drawings and specifications

• Producing a high-quality finished exterior

Interior team description:

• Interior lining and finishing

• Trims and interior panels

• Fitting seats and passenger equipment

• Interior doors, access panels and finishing components

• Working with aluminium, timber products, laminates and composite materials

• Reading basic drawings and following individual vehicle specifications

• Final fit and finish

About you

• Have good practical and mechanical skills

• Take pride in the quality of their work

• Can accurately measure, cut, fit and assemble components

• Are comfortable working with hand and power tools

• Can read basic drawings or are willing to learn

• Can work as part of a manufacturing team

• Have good attention to detail

• Are reliable and safety conscious

• Experience in coachbuilding, vehicle body building, sheet metal, fabrication, caravan/RV manufacturing or a similar trade highly regarded but not essential.

• Trade qualifications are an advantage, but relevant hands-on experience and the right skill set are equally important although training will be provided.
