We’re looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an accountant who has built a solid foundation in business services and taxation and is ready to take the next step — working more independently, developing stronger client relationships and continuing to grow their technical skills.

About the Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you’ll work across a diverse portfolio of clients and be responsible for preparing high-quality accounting and taxation work, while working closely with our senior managers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships

• Preparation of BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations

• Tax planning and general taxation advice

• Preparation and review of management reports and supporting schedules

• Assisting with new client onboarding and implementation

• Implementing Xero and Payroll set up for new clients

• Liaising directly with clients, the ATO and other external parties

• Assisting with client queries and identifying issues that require further advice

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records

• Working with senior team members on more complex client matters

• Managing your own workflow and meeting lodgement and client deadlines

• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes

About You

We’re looking for someone who is technically capable, organised and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

Ideally, you will have:

• Approximately 2–4 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline

• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for a range of entities

• A good understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements

• Experience with accounting and tax software such as Xero

• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills

• Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues

• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

• CA or CPA studies underway, or an intention to commence
