We are seeking highly organised and detail-oriented Security Clearance Administration Officers to support the administration of personnel security clearances and background checking processes. Working within a collaborative security function, you will help ensure employees, contractors and stakeholders meet security requirements before accessing sensitive information, systems and facilities.

The Role & The Team

As a Security Clearance Administration Officer, you will provide accurate, timely and customer-focused administrative support across a range of personnel security activities. You will work closely with clearance applicants, employees, contractors, hiring managers and security stakeholders to coordinate security clearance processes, maintain records and support compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and support security clearance sponsorship, initiation, renewals, transfers and separation processes.
• Collect, review and maintain clearance documentation and supporting evidence.
• Manage personnel security records, registers and reporting data.
• Monitor clearance activities, outstanding actions and ongoing suitability requirements.
• Provide guidance to applicants and stakeholders regarding security clearance processes, requirements and obligations.
• Support audit readiness, compliance activities and data quality reviews.
• Escalate issues that may impact security compliance, operational delivery or clearance integrity.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive personnel and security-related information.

The Person

You are a proactive administrator with exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders.

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience in administration, coordination or compliance-focused roles.
• Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using databases or case management systems.
• The ability to follow established procedures while identifying and escalating issues appropriately.
• An understanding of government security requirements or personnel security processes would be highly regarded.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting security clearance, personnel vetting, background checking, compliance, government or regulated environments.
• Certificate IV in Government Security, Personnel Vetting, or similar qualifications.

Security Clearance
