Financial Controller

1.    Financial Strategy & Planning

·       Drive long-term business tax planning, structure management, and budgeting across multiple entities within the Group.

·       Partner with external tax advisors and legal counsel to design and implement tax-efficient intercompany structures.

·       Develop and manage the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes across all Group entities, ensuring consistency in assumptions and consolidation methodology while accounting for entity-specific regulatory and reporting requirements (e.g. AFSL/ACL obligations).

·       Provide scenario-based financial modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making on new deals, acquisitions, and capital allocation across business divisions.

·       Monitor and report on cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning at both the entity and consolidated Group level, flagging funding gaps or surplus capital deployment opportunities ahead of time.

·       Support the Board and Investment Committee with financial planning input for due diligence on new transactions, including structuring recommendations from a tax and consolidated reporting perspective.

2. Financial Reporting & Compliance

·       Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

·       Strong understanding of the financial services compliance framework, with the ability to interpret and implement compliance obligations relating to the ATO, ASIC and AUSTRAC; and/or experience in property development financial analysis, including but not limited to development feasibility modelling.

·       Oversee preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG, income tax returns and other regulatory filings.

·       Prepare Expected Credit Loss Model/Calculation, NAV Report, Right of use asset & Liability calculation and Cash need calculations and etc.

·       Communicate financial performance, business strategies, and outlook to shareholders, analysts, and rating agencies.

·       Familiar with GST Grouping, Tax Consolidation Group, Reduced Input Tax Credit and etc.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

·       Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

·       Monitor actual performance against budget and report variances with commentary and recommendations.

·       Provide cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

4. Management & Internal Controls

·       Establish and maintain sound internal financial controls and procedures.

·       Maintain general ledger, chart of accounts and financial systems integrity.

·       Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries and month-end close processes.

5. Payroll & Superannuation

·       Oversee payroll processing, payroll tax, superannuation contributions and employee entitlements.

·       Ensure compliance with Fair Work Act and relevant industrial instruments.

6. Audit & External Relations

•       Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents and advisors to facilitate audits and tax reviews.

•       Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with external stakeholders including banks, regulators and professional service providers.

7. Strategic Financial Report

•       Support executive management with strategic advice on capital structure, investment decisions, and risk management.

•       Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business cases and funding proposals.

•       Assist in debt facility arrangement, covenant monitoring and reporting.

8. System & Process Improvement

•       Lead implementation of accounting software and process improvement initiatives.

•       Drive automation and efficiency in financial operations and reporting.

9. Team Leadership

•       Supervise finance staff, including training, performance reviews and delegation of tasks.

•       Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement within the finance function.
