Finance & Payroll Officer

We’re looking for a Payroll & Finance Officer to help keep the financial engine room of Cygnett running smoothly. You’ll sit within our Finance team, report to our Finance Manager, and take ownership of payroll and day-to-day finance operations across our growing Australian business.

This isn’t a data-entry role. You’ll be the person our crew trusts to pay them accurately and on time, every time, and the person our Finance Manager relies on to keep accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations tight. You’ll bring precision, a real interest in improving how things run, and the judgement to know when something needs to be flagged rather than filed away.

You could be the one if you can…

• Process end to end payroll for employees, including calculating hours worked, deductions, and taxes ensuring compliance of relevant Awards, financial regulations and laws including PAYG, Superannuation, payroll tax and Workcover administration.
• Manage accounts receivable, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
• Process incoming payments including customer enquiries regarding outstanding accounts. Reconciliation of customer accounts.
• Be responsible for the processing of all overseas invoices including GL allocation and including supplier enquiries including requests for payment.
• Process staff reimbursements after Manager’s approval.
• Manage staff Credit cards and expense system– reconciliations & SAP postings.
• Assist manager with month end processes
• Assist with cash management with regards to payments and receivables;
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis
• Provide support to the finance team as needed

Desirable Skills and Competencies…

• At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
• Experience with Employment Hero Payroll System
• Knowledge of the Storage Services and Wholesale Award
• Working knowledge of SAP Business One
• Good knowledge and experience in payroll and general finance processes, functions and procedures
• exceptional attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and customer services skills
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a high volume and fast-moving business experiences
• Proficiency in the MS Office products, especially Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field would be of interest but not essential
