Aboriginal Senior Project Coordinator

The Kids Research Institute Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Senior Project Coordinator to join our Ear and Hearing Health Team to play a key leadership role within the Djaalinj Waakinj Ear and Hearing Health Centre.

In this position, you will work closely with the Head of Ear and Hearing Health, Centre staff, community members and stakeholders to support the delivery of culturally secure research projects and tailored support services for Aboriginal children and families experiencing ear and hearing health concerns.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Djaalinj Waakinj Ear and Hearing Health Centre.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal families, Elders, community organisations, health services and other key stakeholders.
• Support the co-design and delivery of family-focused, community-led initiatives and research programs.
• Provide cultural guidance and support to researchers and project teams to ensure culturally secure research practices.
• Lead and support Aboriginal Researchers within the team while contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Assist with research activities including ethics processes, study documentation, data collection and project reporting.

Based at the Djaalinj Waakinj Ear and Hearing Health Centre in Cockburn, WA, this is a full time, fixed term position for 12 months. Part-time will be considered for suitable applicants.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful research and service delivery that supports improved ear and hearing health outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.

You are an experienced community leader and relationship builder who is passionate about improving Aboriginal health outcomes and supporting culturally safe services and research.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal health and wellbeing and the barriers Aboriginal people may face when accessing services.
• Experience building strong relationships and engaging with Aboriginal communities, families and stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating and delivering health-related services, programs and/or projects.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and electronic data management systems.
• A commitment to fostering culturally safe, inclusive and community-centred environments.
