Task & responsibilities Assist in formulating and reviewing budgetary, accounting and financial control policies, and support management with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. Liaise with management, financial institutions, auditors, tax professionals, suppliers and other external stakeholders regarding accounting, taxation, banking, funds management and financial matters.
Prepare, review and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, management reports and financial schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, reconciliations, payment allocations, debtor follow-ups and resolution of account discrepancies. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and accounting records, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, appropriately classified and supported by relevant documentation.
Conduct internal financial reviews and investigations, prepare reports, identify discrepancies and control weaknesses, and assist external auditors by providing relevant financial records and documentation. Provide financial and taxation information to management regarding business operations, financial plans, expenditure and business structures to support informed decision-making. Maintain and improve accounting systems and computer-based accounting software, while maintaining effective internal controls to ensure data integrity, accurate reporting and protection of company assets.
Monitor cash flow and working capital, assess financial risks associated with business projects and capital expenditure, and prepare financial analyses and forecasts to support project evaluations. Prepare and coordinate BAS, GST, PAYG and other taxation returns and obligations, ensuring timely lodgement and compliance with Australian Taxation Office requirements. Prepare financial documentation, forecasts and analytical reports, providing practical accounting insights and recommendations based on three years of experience at Living
High Pty Ltd to support business planning and financial performance. Examine operating costs, income and expenditure, analyse budget-to-actual variances, identify cost-saving opportunities and provide financial recommendations to improve business performance. Maintain payroll records and assist with accurate processing of wages, superannuation and employee entitlements in accordance with relevant requirements.
Qualification & experience Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and ATO compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
