About the role
We are seeking a hands-on People and Training Manager to lead the recruitment, training, and employment administration functions across our Group, based across our Wynnum Manly Leagues Club and Fielders Club venues. Reporting to the Group General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we attract, train, and support our people - maintaining a capable, engaged and compliant workforce across both venues.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both the strategic and operational sides of the role, and who is confident managing people, processes, and compliance in a fast-paced, seven-day trading environment.
Key responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process, from advertising and screening through to interviews, offers and induction
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive training programmes across all departments, ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
Maintain the qualifications and other mandatory credentials current across both venues
Lead the ACES recognition program and drive initiatives that build a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture
Coordinate workplace health and safety obligations
Monitor the adherence by staff to all policies and procedures
Maintain the Group's policy framework and support managers through performance and probation processes with sound, practical guidance
Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation, awards, and industry-specific regulatory requirements
What we are looking for
Proven experience in a Human Resources, Management, or similar leadership role
Demonstrated experience managing recruitment, training, and employment administration functions
Excellent leadership skills with the confidence to coach and develop employees
Highly organised, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational needs across two venues
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine passion for people and training
Certificate IV in Human Resource Management (or equivalent experience, or willingness to obtain)
Current Queensland driver's licence and the ability to travel between both venues
Unrestricted right to work in Australia
Experience working in hospitality, clubs, or leisure industry environments would be advantageous
What we offer
Salary Position
A team-friendly roster with alternating Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday off
The opportunity to shape and build the people and training function within a growing club group
A supportive, values-driven team culture
Genuine opportunity for career growth and impact
