Vegetable Sales Representative

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fresh Produce Salesman to join our wholesale fruit and vegetable business operating through the Sydney Markets.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing existing customers, developing new business and increasing profitable sales while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow existing customer accounts

• Develop new customers and sales opportunities

• Sell fresh fruit and vegetables to wholesale customers

• Negotiate pricing while maintaining profit margins

• Monitor daily market conditions and competitor pricing

• Increase sales and profitability

• Maintain strong customer relationships

• Follow up orders and outstanding accounts

• Work closely with warehouse and management staff

• Monitor customer payment performance

• Assist with stock availability and product quality

• Minimise wastage, returns and unprofitable sales

• Maintain accurate sales and customer records

• Achieve agreed sales and profit targets

Commission

The position includes an uncapped commission structure based on collected net profit.

Commission is calculated on customer payments actually received and cleared by the business. The commissionable profit will be calculated in accordance with the company’s agreed commission formula.

This structure rewards the salesman for profitable sales and successful collection of customer accounts, rather than simply generating turnover.

About You

The ideal applicant will have:

• Previous fresh produce sales experience

• Experience within the Sydney wholesale markets highly regarded

• Strong knowledge of wholesale fruit and vegetable pricing

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Ability to build long-term customer relationships

• Strong commercial awareness

• Ability to work under pressure

• Results-driven attitude

• Excellent organisation and follow-up skills

• Current driver’s licence
