The Project

The Tram to Springvale Alliance (TSA) comprising CPB Contractors, BMD Constructions and Arup has been selected to deliver the Eastern Freeway Upgrades between Tram and Springvale roads. The major upgrade includes new express lanes, upgraded noise walls and revitalised sections of the Koonung Creek Linear Park.

The Project is being delivered under an Alliance Contract with Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) as the Project Owner and TSA (CPB, BMD and Arup) as the Non-owner Participants (NOPs). Together they form the Alliance working as one to deliver this critical infrastructure project.

As a key component of the Northeast Link Program (NELP), this project will provide a safer, more efficient freeway connection for over 135,000 vehicles daily, removing 15,000 trucks from local roads, and reduce traffic across on the arterial road network crossing the Yarra River by 50,000 vehicles per day.

We’re offering a unique opportunity for a Document Controller (Trainee), to join NEL EFU TSA and gain hands-on experience while working in full-time capacity, studying towards a Certificate IV in Business (or similar), and earning a competitive salary above award rates.You’ll support the project’s Document Controller team in delivering one of Victoria’s largest infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to safety systems, compliance, and risk management in a live construction environment.This role combines on-the-job training with formal study, setting you up for a long-term career in the construction industry.

Reporting to the Document Controller Lead, the Document Controller (Trainee) will sit within the project team and be accountable for:

Assisting with the management, governance and control of project information, records, documents and correspondence throughout their lifecycle.Supporting the receipt, review, distribution and archiving of controlled documentsMaintaining document registers, metadata and distribution lists within project systemsAssisting with quality assurance reviews to ensure documents meet project standards and compliance requirementsSupporting project reporting activities, including weekly and monthly reportingSupporting initiatives that improve digital workflows, automation and information management processes across the project.Gathering, validating and organising information for project dashboards and reportsLearning to use industry systems such as InEight, SharePoint and Power BISupporting stakeholders across the project to ensure accurate and timely document management and reportingContributing to continuous improvement of reporting processes and document control practicesWorking collaboratively within a high-performing project team to support successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

This is a traineeship position, to be eligible applicants must:

Be willing to undertake and complete a Certificate IV in Business (or similar qualification) while working full-timeNot have previously completed a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Business (or equivalent)Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or NZ Citizen
