About the role

We are seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to join our team in Melbourne. This role offers the opportunity to work across a sophisticated investment platform, gaining exposure to complex transactions and institutional capital, while playing a key role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our investment accounting operations.
The RoleReporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of investment accounting, operational and administrative functions across MaxCap’s debt and private credit investment vehicles.
You’ll work closely with Debt and Equity Investment, Portfolio Management, Operations, Capital, Finance and Client Services, as well as external custodians, fund administrators, auditors, trustees and tax advisers.
Key ResponsibilitiesManaging investor drawdowns, cash movements and custodian reconciliationsCoordinating loan transactions, drawdowns, repayments and interest collectionsReviewing NAV calculations, unit pricing and capital transactionsMonitoring liquidity and overseeing portfolio reconciliationsPreparing monthly client reporting and financial statementsManaging BAS, tax accruals, distributions and year-end compliance (incl. GS007)Liaising with auditors, custodians and tax advisersSupporting new product implementation and driving automation/process improvementsProviding technical accounting support on complex transactions
About YouCA / CPA qualified with 5+ years investment accounting experienceExposure to private credit, private equity or direct investments (essential)Strong expertise in reconciliations, distributions and financial reportingAdvanced Excel skills (Python/SQL/VBA/Power BI is advantageous)Detail-oriented and confident managing multiple stakeholdersA proactive and commercially minded approach, with the desire to continuously improve
