About the role
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Aged Care and Disability Support Workers to join our Team. In this rewarding role, you will support older people and people with disability to maintain their independence, achieve their goals and remain actively connected to their community. You will provide a combination of practical assistance, personal support and social engagement across a variety of settings, including participants' homes, community venues and group programs.

Sydney Community Services (SCS) supports people across the Lane Cove, Hunters Hill, Ryde and Willoughby local government areas. We provide a range of aged care, disability support and community programs that help people remain independent, connected and engaged in their communities. We aim to enhance wellbeing and quality of life through inclusive, person-centred services that promote independence, confidence, connection and community participation.
Key responsibilities
Support individuals and participants to engage in social, recreational and community activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social inclusion, and develop life skills, confidence and community connections.
Build positive and respectful relationships with individuals, participants, their families and carers
Support individuals and participants in accordance with their individual goals, preferences and care plans.
Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing and personal hygiene.
Support meal preparation, shopping and daily living activities.
Provide social support, companionship and transport assistance.
Assist with domestic tasks that help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
Monitor participant wellbeing and respond appropriately to changing needs.
About you
Essential Requirements:
Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or a related field
Experience working in aged care, disability services or community support
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence using technology and electronic systems
Current First Aid Certificate
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check (where required)
Current NSW Driver Licence
Fully maintained vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Desirable
Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese or other dialects), Italian, Farsi, Dari or Korean
Experience supporting people living with dementia, people with mobility requirements, and/or individuals with Behaviour Support Plans
