Sales Assistant

About the role

Total Tools Maroochydore is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our dynamic retail team in Maroochydore, Queensland. This is a full-time position or casual position depending on the applicant where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales within our fast-paced retail environment. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our store, helping customers find the right products and building lasting relationships that keep them coming back. This role is integral to our success in providing outstanding service to both trade professionals and everyday customers.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers warmly and professionally as they enter the store, creating a welcoming atmosphere

• Assisting customers in locating products and providing knowledgeable product information to support their purchasing decisions

• Processing sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash and card payments

• Maintaining a clean, tidy and well-organised store environment, including restocking shelves and displays

• Building strong customer relationships through attentive service and addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly

• Achieving individual and team sales targets whilst maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction

• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth store operations and seamless customer experiences

• Following company policies, procedures and health and safety guidelines at all times

• Contributing to inventory management by conducting stock counts and assisting with deliveries

What we're looking for

• Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a hardware, tools or home improvement retail environment

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers

• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and going the extra mile

• The ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

• Basic numeracy skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems or similar technology

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate to heavy items as required

• A team-oriented mindset with the flexibility to adapt to changing store needs

• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude towards work

• Product knowledge or willingness to learn about tools, hardware and building supplies would be advantageous
