About the role
We're looking for a psychologist who genuinely enjoys working with kids and teens, and who wants to do that work somewhere with real support behind it, not just a room and a diary.
About usThe OCD Clinic started 13 years ago as a boutique practice built specifically around treating OCD and related disorders. Over time, as our team grew and clients came in with the anxiety, trauma and mood presentations that so often sit alongside OCD, our scope broadened with them. Our team has grown, but we have stayed tight-knit, so you're not just a name on a roster. People know each other and actually check in.
We're now one of six niche clinics in a wider network, which gives our clinicians a lot more than most small practices can offer without losing that closeness. Learning is genuinely built into how we operate, not an afterthought. We enjoy peer supervision together fortnightly and are all engaged in various research and training. On top of your own CPD, you get four additional sessions a year across the network covering a range of issues (e.g attachment, ethical and legal, other clinical areas of focus). We also have a principal psychologist separate from your operating lines.
We've also put real effort into the practical side of running a clinic, so our clinicians spend their time on clinical work rather than chasing referrals or fighting with a booking system. Scheduling, billing and referrals are handled by an experienced admin team, and the systems behind the scenes are genuinely good, not just something we say in a job ad.
The roleThis is a therapy-focused position for children and teens, roughly 80% therapy and 20% option for assessment. You'll be working within a supportive team that values both clinical autonomy and genuine collaboration.
You'll:
• Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents. Preference for solid training in CBT/ACT.
• Have access to structured supervision and mentoring
• Work with systems that actually make the job easier, not harder
Employment type: Employee or Contractor
Hours: Full-time, part-time, or contract. Two days minimum.
What you get• A close-knit team where people actually check in, not a large practice where you're just a room number
• Four extra CPD sessions a year across our sister clinics
• Access to our internal training library.
• Direct support and feedback from the management team, not just a distant HR function
• Regular group supervision and real case discussion
• STAP supervision for registrars, and a genuine pathway for development
• Complimentary workshops, masterclasses and mentoring
• Modern consulting rooms designed with actual clinical work in mind
About you• Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and/or other scopes of registration (Educational and Developmental, general registration, etc.) depending on your experience with kids and teens. There needs to be a strong history of private practice.
• Current AHPRA registration
• Real private practice experience
• Comfortable working with CBT and ACT
• Some familiarity with OCD and anxiety presentations in children and teens. We'll train you further, but you should already have a working understanding coming in
• Medicare eligibility, or the ability to obtain it
• A collaborative approach and someone who's easy to work alongside
Why this clinicWe're an established special interest practice with a solid history of providing good clinical service. We believe learning is crucial and something we actually invest in. Being part of a wider network means you're never clinically isolated, and our systems mean the admin side of the job doesn't eat into your energy for the clinical side.
