About the role

The Derwent Valley is a stunning, diverse location just 30 minutes from Hobart, extending from New Norfolk and its surrounds to spectacular world heritage wilderness areas.·
This role is primarily responsible for:-
The Development and maintenance of the Councils asset and infrastructure register, asset modelling, asset revaluations and asset renewal work programming
Plan and oversee lifecycle activities including acquisition, maintenance and replacement
Providing support and or advice to the Works Manager and/or CEO on engineered assets
Providing support and or advice to the Works Manager and or CEO regarding infrastructure priorities funding grants, Capital project funding
To be successful, please respond to the selection criteria below:-
Tertiary qualification in asset management, engineering, project management or related fields
Extensive knowledge and experience in project and infrastructure management, asset strategy development and leadership of customer focused Council asset departments.
Strong political and business acumen across a broad range of disciplines within a similar environment with a strong focus on strategic outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in working with modern asset & project management systems
Highly effective interpersonal, relationship management and negotiation skills and the ability to transform strategic concepts into practical outcomes.
Strong commitment to the principles underpinning good governance and sound financial management.
Highly developed skills in research, analysis and reporting writing
Proven transparent and professional decision-making capacity reinforced by a high standard of personal ethics and integrity, discretion and diplomacy.
Broad knowledge of local government, industrial relations and work health and safety.
Relevant Post Graduate qualification
