Flightys Earthmoving values practical experience, safety awareness, and strong work ethics in its workforce.Role Description The Pugmill Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Exmouth, WA. This position is responsible for operating the pugmill to mix and process materials to specified standards, monitoring material quality, and adjusting settings as required. Daily tasks include performing pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of equipment, as well as coordinating with site supervisors and truck drivers to manage material supply and stockpiles. The Pugmill Operator must follow all safety procedures, maintain clean and organized work areas, and accurately complete production and maintenance records. The role may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions and performing manual handling tasks as needed.Qualifications Experience operating pugmills or similar earthmoving, quarry, or fixed plant equipment, with strong mechanical aptitude.Knowledge of civil construction materials, mixing processes, and quality control procedures.Understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including risk assessments and safe work methods.Ability to read and follow job specifications, production schedules, and basic technical instructions.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors, drivers, and other site personnel.Reliable work habits, willingness to work extended hours or weekends when required, and capacity to work outdoors in remote locations.Relevant tickets or licenses such as forklift, loader, or other earthmoving equipment (desirable), and a valid driver’s license.Prior experience in civil construction, quarrying, or earthmoving operations in regional or remote areas is an advantage.
