Clinical or Senior Psychologist | Animal Assisted Therapy

At W.A.G. Therapeutic Service, we blend evidence-based psychological interventions with the power of trained therapy dogs. We use in Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) and Animal-Assisted Play Therapy™, supporting children, adolescents, and adults within a warm, engaging, and dynamic practice. We believe that providing exceptional client care starts with thoroughly supporting our clinicians. When you join W.A.G., you will enjoy:

• Work alongside our therapy dogs in a purpose-built environment. Opportunities are also available for clinicians who wish to train and integrate their own suitable dog into their practice.

• Work from home one day per week for admin.

• A manageable target of 23.5 client hours per week (for 1.0 FTE), with dedicated, built-in administration and reporting time.

• Practice from large consulting rooms with full-time reception and administrative support, allowing you to focus on clinical care.

We are seeking a clinician who aligns with our values of clinical excellence, warmth, and innovation (must love dogs!). To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).

• Board-approved supervisor status preferred.

• Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number.

• A natural comfort with dogs and a strong desire to learn how to ethically incorporate them into clinical practice.

• Proficiency in delivering evidence-based interventions across a diverse range of presenting issues.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, alongside high professional and ethical standards.

• An autonomous, self-motivated approach to practice and a commitment to continuous professional learning.

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
