About the role

We are seeking a passionate Butcher and/or Apprentice to join our team at our Maleny QLD location. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a traditional trade whilst working in a professional, customer-focused environment. Whether you are beginning your journey in butchery or looking to advance existing skills, this role will provide hands-on experience in all aspects of meat preparation, customer service, and shop operations.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and butchering meat products to the highest standards, including boning, trimming, and cutting to customer specifications

• Maintaining a clean and hygienic workplace in compliance with food safety regulations and company standards

• Operating butchery equipment safely and responsibly

• Serving customers with professionalism and providing expert advice on meat selection and cooking methods

• Packaging and labelling meat products accurately

• Managing stock rotation and maintaining inventory records

• Assisting with shop displays and promotional activities

• Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues

What we're looking for

• A strong commitment to learning the butchery trade and developing practical skills

• Attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship

• Good physical fitness and stamina for a hands-on role involving standing and repetitive tasks

• Excellent personal hygiene and adherence to food safety practices

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner

• Reliability and punctuality

• A willingness to work as part of a team

• Relevant qualifications or apprenticeship in butchery (preferred but not essential for entry-level candidates)

• Applicable certifications such as a Certificate III in Meat Processing or equivalent (desired for experienced applicants)
