OPENING IN SEPTEMBER AT THE EXCHANGE HOTEL
Downtown Deniliquin is seeking experienced Chefs, Pizza Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands to join our dynamic kitchen team in Deniliquin, NSW.
This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a busy and fast-paced environment. You will work alongside a dedicated team to deliver high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences to our customers. Training will be provided for those starting a career in Food.
About the Role
As part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, with a particular focus on pizza and Italian cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a range of dishes in accordance with recipes, quality standards and presentation requirements.
Prepare and cook pizzas, with experience in Italian cuisine highly regarded.
Organise and manage food preparation stations efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation before service.
Receive, inspect and correctly store food deliveries and ingredients.
Minimise food waste and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Maintain a strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients and preparation methods.
Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Assist with stock control, inventory management and ordering.
Contribute ideas to menu development and new dishes.
Train and support junior kitchen staff where required.
Training provided for those starting a career in food.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for reliable, motivated and experienced hospitality professionals who take pride in their work.
The ideal candidates will have:
Proven experience as a Chef, Pizza Chef or Cook in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
Experience preparing pizza and/or Italian cuisine is highly desirable.
Strong culinary skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
A positive attitude and professional approach to work.
Relevant hospitality qualifications and certificates.
The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays where required.
