About the Position
The Technical Officer, Arboriculture is responsible for undertaking tasks associated with managing and maintaining Council’s Urban Forest. A key area of responsibility is performing Tree Risk Assessments and providing technical advice regarding tree maintenance and retention.
This position is also responsible for the planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting of contracts, projects and programs within the Parks and Natural Resources area, ensuring agreed works are completed on time to relevant standards.
About You
You will have a solid local government work experience in assessing trees, reviewing development applications related to tree impacts, You will also have a good understanding of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, safety systems and operational best practices for urban forest management.
You will contribute to practical decisions that create cooler, greener neighbourhoods, improve habitat, enhance community wellbeing and strengthen the environmental character of our region.
