Yard Supervisor - Bell Bay

The Sims Tasmanian Team is looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our team at the Bell Bay Yard.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced supervisor or emerging leader who is ready to take the next step into supervision and build their leadership skills in a fast paced, hands on operational environment.

Your new role

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will play an important role in the day to day running of the yard, supporting our team to work safely, efficiently and productively.

You'll be working closely with the Yard Manager and the wider team to coordinate people, equipment and daily activities, while helping to create a positive and supportive team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and support the team by coordinating daily activities, allocating work and ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Drive productivity and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve the way we work and making sure the yard operates effectively.
• Lead by example on safety, ensuring you and your team follow our safety, health, environment and community requirements.
• Build a positive team culture by supporting teamwork, inclusion, employee engagement and positive workplace relationships.
• Deliver great customer service, building strong relationships with customers and ensuring their needs are met.
• Work closely with the Yard Manager to support the smooth day to day operation of the yard and achieve business goals.
• Comply with all Sims Metal policies, standards and procedures relevant to the role.

• Proven experience in machine operating, including forklift and excavator.
