Store Manager | Homewares & Storage Retail

About the role

With a national network of stores across Australia plus a thriving online business, Howards Storage World is looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead our Cambridge store in Tasmania.

You'll run the store with a high level of autonomy: owning the numbers, building and coaching a great team, and making sure every customer walks out having had an exceptional, solution-focused experience. You're a natural leader and motivator with a strong retail background, a track record of hitting sales targets, and genuine pride in leading by example on the floor.

Key responsibilities

• Overall performance and profitability of the store, with a high level of autonomy

• Providing leadership and direction in the day-to-day running of the business

• Ensuring every customer has an exceptional, solution-focused service experience — leading by example

• Recruiting, developing and retaining a quality team suited to a full-service offer

• Coaching, rostering, and conducting annual and "as needed" performance reviews

• Maintaining a high standard of visual merchandising throughout the store at all times

• Selecting and ordering merchandise appropriate to sales trends and promotions

• Meeting sales and margin targets appropriate to budget and season

• Setting daily and long-term goals to achieve the desired financial outcome

About you

• Previous leadership experience with a track record of excelling across all areas of store operations

• Minimum 2 years in retail management

• A strong focus on achieving sales and profit targets

• Real passion for exceptional customer service

• Drive — motivated and results-oriented

• Excellent communication and time management

• Full working rights in Australia and availability across a 7-day retail roster, including weekends
