Trainer and Assessor

We are looking for an experienced Trainer & Assessor, or someone looking to take the next step into training and assessing, to join our team and play a key role in the development of our field workforce.

Based at our purpose-built Training Centre Jandakot and working across operational sites, you will deliver technical training and undertake workplace competency assessments for employees and contractor personnel involved in the construction, operation and maintenance of our gas distribution network. Your contribution will help ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence and, most importantly, the safety of our people and the communities we serve.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical field experience with your passion for developing others. You'll be responsible for delivering engaging technical training, conducting workplace assessments and supporting the ongoing development of training and assessment materials.

Working closely with supervisors, operational teams and subject matter experts, you'll help ensure our workforce remains competent, compliant and equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare training resources, equipment and materials to support effective learning outcomes.
• Deliver technical training and workplace competency assessments
• Partner with operational leaders to ensure assessments are completed accurately and on time in line with compliance and business requirements. Contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of training and assessment materials.
• Gather and maintain current operational knowledge and promote safe work practices in all activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

A Certificate III qualification or equivalent in one of the following disciplines:

• Utilities
• Civil Construction
• Plumbing and Gas Fitting

• Demonstrated experience within gas distribution, another utility sector, civil construction or a similar operational environment.
• Strong technical knowledge, commitment to safety and the ability to promote industry best practice.  
• Well-developed communication, stakeholder engagement and computer skills.
• A current C Class Driver's Licence.

Desirable

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
• Previous experience delivering workplace training and conducting competency assessments.
• Candidates who do not currently hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment but have previous experience delivering training and assessment will still be considered
