About the role
Use your creative skills and digital knowledge to win better outcomes for consumers at a leading research and advocacy organisation working to build a more equitable Australia. This new role will translate our research into reports and engaging content across our digital channels. Your work will help drive change across big issues including a fairer digital world, consumer rights, safer and more affordable housing, and sustainability.
Our team works remotely and is located across Australia, with team members currently in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and regional Victoria. CPRC supports our team to work fully remotely at home and has desks available at another non-profit’s office in Melbourne. We bring our whole team together 3-4 times a year for planning and connection events to help us work effectively across the year. The Engagement Team will also meet in Melbourne several times a year for planning.
This role reports to our Engagement Director who is based in Melbourne and will be required to regularly film content with our CEO, Deputy CEO and research staff in Melbourne. For practicality, we are seeking a candidate based in Melbourne or regional Victoria with capacity to work in Melbourne when required for filming and events.
The Consumer Policy Research Centre (CPRC) is an independent, not-for-profit that conducts research and advocacy to address problems impacting consumers. CPRC has a strong track record in addressing consumer rights issues, greenwashing practices, digital consumer issues, and cost-of-living challenges. We work on digital regulation issues, including stronger regulation of AI. As a research institute, CPRC values human creativity and original work. This role will need to operate within CPRC’s AI policy which does not allow the use of AI to create new work, including image generation, video generation and text in research or public communications. We recognise that AI tools are in much of the software we use and AI assistance may be part of editing or optimising work.

The Content Producer will work with the Engagement Team to distil CPRC’s research into engaging content that builds brand awareness and supports our advocacy and fundraising goals. This role will:
You are a confident and collaborative creative professional with strong content production skills. You have great attention to detail and understand how to translate complex information into clear and concise storytelling that moves audiences to take action.
You are an excellent communicator who is comfortable working remotely in a small team and interested in continuing our supportive culture. You have an interest in our mission and want to work at a not-for-profit that develops ideas to make Australia fairer for consumers.
