About the role
Role Description This part-time Business Analyst (Entry / Junior) role supports small business owners in understanding and improving their operations, processes, and performance. The position is hybrid, based in Sydney, NSW, with a mix of on-site work and some work from home as agreed. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing data related to sales, operations, and customer behavior, and helping map existing business processes. The role also involves preparing clear reports and presentations, communicating findings to stakeholders, and assisting in the design of simple process improvements or solutions. The analyst will collaborate with team members across the business to support decision-making and monitor the impact of recommended changes.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence-based recommendations.Candidates should possess Business Analysis and Business Requirements skills to gather, document, and translate needs into clear, actionable specifications.Candidates should possess Business Process skills to map workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose practical improvements.Candidates should possess Communication skills to present insights clearly, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and adapt messaging for different audiences.Candidates should ideally have basic proficiency with spreadsheets or data tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets), attention to detail, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.A relevant qualification or ongoing study in Business, Commerce, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field is beneficial but not strictly required.Interest in small business environments, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting are highly valued.
