Payroll Supervisor - ANZ | Sydney
Take ownership of payroll delivery across Australia and New Zealand, with the scope to lead process improvement and mentor a Payroll Officer along the way.

Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you'll manage end-to-end payroll processing across both countries, act as the technical escalation point for compliance and reconciliation issues, and provide coaching and quality assurance support to our Payroll Officer.
What you'll doProcess weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls across Australia and New Zealand, including new starters, changes, terminations, deductions, and reimbursementsPrepare payroll journals, reconcile transactions, and resolve payroll discrepanciesEnsure compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, taxation, superannuation, and payroll tax obligationsPrepare statutory payments, reconciliations, and end-of-year reporting, and support internal and external auditsMonitor legislative changes and recommend updates to payroll processes and controlsSupport Finance with payroll accounting activities, month-end reporting, and accrualsManage payroll enquiries and provide timely, accurate advice to employees and managersSupervise and provide quality assurance support to the Payroll Officer, and lead training on payroll systems including Dayforce and ConnX
What you'll bringDemonstrated end-to-end payroll experience across Australia, ideally in a multi-state environment, plus exposure to New Zealand or other multi-jurisdiction payrollWorking knowledge of Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and leave legislationExperience supporting statutory reporting, reconciliations, and audit requirementsConfidence supervising or supporting less experienced team membersAdvanced Excel skills and a proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Nice to haveExperience with Dayforce, ConnX, or MicrOpayExperience within a large, complex, or multi-brand organisation
