We are looking for a Senior Project Coordinator to join our Wollongong project team.
The Role
The Senior Project Coordinator/Engineer is responsible for partnering with the Project Manager to drive the project's safety, quality, program, and commercial objectives, taking a leading role in the day-to-day management and coordination of the project team.
It is vital the Senior Project Coordinator/Engineer works effectively with all contractors, consultants, and team members across the company, understanding how each party's performance impacts the others, to ensure a cohesive, efficient, and profitable operation.
Key Responsibilities
Not limited to:
Interpret complex project documents, extract key deliverables, and advise the project team on their implications.
Lead quality planning and the development of robust risk management methods across the project.
Monitor and review the Project Quality Management Plan and Design Management Plan, recommending improvements to drive effectiveness.
Oversee the execution of all aspects of project works to ensure compliance with expected quality requirements.
Drive the implementation of Inspection Test Plans, ensuring alignment with the Quality Management Plan and taking corrective action where required.
Ensure current design intent is being constructed by leading the review of new and revised drawings, providing detailed technical comment, and issuing to consultants for update or subcontractors for construction.
Lead detailed Subcontractor Shop Drawing reviews, coordinating input from consultants and internal stakeholders as required.
Proactively identify and prevent design-related discrepancies by managing the RFI process end-to-end — raising RFIs with relevant consultants, assessing advice received, and issuing clear direction to relevant parties.
Ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the BCA and statutory regulations, engaging and directing consultants to resolve non-compliances and design issues.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders (authorities, developers, designers, finance, subcontractors, consultants, etc.), acting as a key point of contact on project matters.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior coordinators or graduate engineers within the project team.
Support the Project Manager in commercial reporting, program tracking, and identifying risks to project delivery.
About You
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
7+ years of experience in the residential construction industry, with demonstrated experience across multiple project phases.
Proven ability to work autonomously and take ownership of key project functions with minimal oversight.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple work fronts.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders, consultants, and authorities.
High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills, with sound judgement in resolving complex design and construction issues.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team, including subcontractors and other stakeholders.
Thorough and current knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and regulations, including the BCA and relevant statutory requirements.
Proficiency with Procore, Jobpac, and Payapps project cost control systems.
