Registered Midwife – $80/hr | Flexible Shifts

About the role

Lumia Care Group is seeking a Registered Midwife to join our team in Sydney, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle and commitments. As a Registered Midwife, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns during one of the most significant periods of their lives. This position offers the flexibility to work around your schedule whilst making a meaningful difference in the maternity and neonatal care setting.

What you'll be doing

• Providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to pregnant women and new mothers

• Assisting with uncomplicated deliveries and supporting women throughout the labour process

• Monitoring the health and wellbeing of newborns, including vital signs assessment and neonatal screening

• Educating mothers on breastfeeding, infant care and postpartum recovery

• Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical documentation and medical records

• Collaborating with doctors, obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes

• Responding to emergency situations and providing immediate clinical interventions as required

• Supporting families with compassionate care and emotional support during their maternity journey

• Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe clinical environment

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Midwife

• Valid Australian working rights and unrestricted practising certificate

• Demonstrated experience in midwifery or maternity care settings

• Strong clinical knowledge of normal labour and delivery, and ability to recognise complications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with women, families and multidisciplinary teams

• Current First Aid and CPR certification

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment

• Commitment to maintaining professional development and continuing education

• Flexibility and adaptability to work across varying shift patterns

• Experience in neonatal care or special care nursery (SCN/NICU) settings is highly desirable
