Site Foreman — Residential Architectural Builds | Newcastle

About the role

Goodwin Vaughan is looking for an experienced Site Foreman to join our team in Newcastle. We build residential architectural projects — not the average home — and we're after someone who takes real pride in the work and wants to grow with us.

What “Foreman” means to us (read this before applying):

On SEEK, “Foreman” and “Supervisor” titles get used interchangeably by different companies, so we want to be specific. This is a hands-on trade leadership role. It's a 50/50 split between being on the tools and managing; you're on the tools daily, not purely managing from a laptop or ute. You lead by doing the work yourself to a high-end standard, then teaching and correcting the crew around you. If you're looking for an office-based or desk-heavy PM role, this isn't it.

Main Job Responsibilities:

●      Daily site management and supervision

●      Interpret plans and specifications, and communicate them clearly to all personnel

●      Manage site scheduling and coordination, including organising subcontractors and following budgets and timelines

●      Site administration, including Buildertrend management and email communication with clients and architects

●      Maintain site safety and ensure compliance with relevant regulations

●      Uphold Goodwin Vaughan quality by performing regular quality control checks

●      Support employees and assist in further developing their knowledge

Must Haves:

●      Cert III in Carpentry

●      Driver's license and trade vehicle

●      Full set of tools

●      Extensive knowledge of carpentry and high-end finishes

●      Pride in your work and a good attitude

●      Ability to be part of a growing team and educate others
