Horticulture Traineeship

Here at Future1st we're partnering up with a leading wholesale tree nursery in Piedmont, Victoria, to find a motivated Horticulture Trainee to join their growing team and complete a Certificate III in Horticulture while working full-time.This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a large-scale wholesale nursery environment, working across the day-to-day production and care of trees. You’ll gain exposure to everything from potting, pruning and general tree care through to preparing customer orders, organising nursery stock, loading and unloading deliveries, and assisting with dispatch operations.Whether you're just starting your career, looking for a fresh direction, returning to the workforce, or simply passionate about trees, plants and working outdoors, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:Assisting with daily nursery operations, including potting, pruning and general tree careMonitoring tree and plant health and reporting any issues to the nursery teamPreparing, processing and packing customer orders with accuracy and careLabelling, organising and maintaining nursery stockAssisting with loading and unloading trucks and deliveriesSupporting day-to-day dispatch and delivery operationsLearning to safely operate nursery machinery, equipment and toolsMaintaining a clean, organised and safe working environmentAssisting other nursery team members with general horticulture duties as requiredFollowing all workplace health and safety proceduresWorking HoursFull-time – 38 hours per weekMonday to Friday7:00 AM – 3:15 PMBased at the nursery in Piedmont, VictoriaHands-on, outdoor nursery environmentWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for people who enjoy practical work and are eager to build a career in the horticulture industry.Ideally, you'll have:A genuine interest in plants and horticultureA positive attitude and strong willingness to learnGood physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasksThe ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong teamwork, reliability and punctualityA willingness to follow workplace health and safety proceduresRequirements:Must be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen/Permanent ResidentMUST HAVE Drivers License and a car.
