Assistant Bottle Shop Manager

The Wembley Hotel Bottle Department is an established retail store and drive-thru service, located in Wembley. We pride ourselves on offering an outstanding range of wine, craft beer, spirits, and premium local products, backed by exceptional customer service.

We are seeking a proactive, passionate, and driven team member to join our team in this full-time leadership position.

About the Role

This position involves:

• Delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales.

• Building strong product knowledge across wine, craft beer, and spirits.

• Leading, mentoring, and training the team to maintain our high standards.

• Assisting with rostering, daily operations and staff development.

• Maintaining high visual merchandising and store presentation standards.

• Assisting with the selection and rotation of beers, wines, and spirits across the venue.

• Understanding keg rooms, draught beer systems, and stock rotation.

• Inventory control, stock ordering, receiving deliveries and stocktakes.

• Monitoring product quality, freshness, and merchandising opportunities.

• Administrative duties including reporting, supplier communication, and compliance.

• Ensuring responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and licensing requirements are upheld.

• Working closely with venue management, suppliers, and brewery representatives.

• Contributing ideas for product launches, tastings, promotions, and special events.

Preferred Experience

Ideally, you will have:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a retail bottle shop, hospitality management, or beverage sales.

• Strong knowledge of wine, craft beer, and premium spirits.

• Experience managing stock, ordering, and inventory control.

• Confidence leading and motivating a team.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Current RSA certification.

Highly regarded:

• Cellar door experience.

• Beverage industry representative or supplier experience.

• WSET, Sommelier or Cicerone qualifications (or currently working towards them).

• Experience with draught beer systems and keg management.
