Account Manager (Commercial)

Clarity Partners is looking for an experienced Commercial Account Manager to join a well-established and highly respected, national insurance brokerage with a strong reputation for delivering tailored risk solutions to businesses across Australia.

In this role, you'll manage an established portfolio of commercial clients while working closely with experienced brokers and account executives. You'll play a key role in servicing clients, identifying growth opportunities through cross-selling and referrals, and supporting junior team members by acting as a trusted point of referral and team mentor.

We are seeking someone with a flare for identifying new opportunities, who is technically strong in commercial broking and willing to pass that knowledge forward as a 2IC to the team’s Account Director. 

Client Portfolio Management 

• Manage an established portfolio of commercial insurance clients valued at approximately $500K in brokerage income, however this is flexible on experience level. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships by delivering exceptional client service.
• Prepare renewals, endorsements and policy documentation.
• Liaise with insurers to negotiate favourable outcomes for clients.
• Stay informed on industry developments, products and compliance requirements.

New Business

• No official target for this role, but a desire and willingness to grow the portfolio is essential. 
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling, upselling and business growth within existing accounts. 
• Convert warm leads while developing your own referral network and pipeline 

Mentorship & Leadership

• Support the Account Director day-to-day with the team’s technical queries, acting as a secondary referral point. 
• Provide mentorship to 3 Account Executives, eager to learn and progress their knowledge. 
• Work collaboratively with brokers, account executives and support staff to deliver outstanding service.
• Liaise, delegate and communicate with the team’s allocated off-shore support, ensuring efficiency. 

• 4+ years in commercial broking; end to end account management. 
• Tier 1 Insurance Broking (minimum).
• Solid, working knowledge of all commercial insurance products.
• Excellent communication skills and client service. 
• A proactive approach to identifying business development opportunities and the ability to establish and maintain new relationships. 
• The ability and desire to mentor and support junior colleagues.
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities, time management and the ability to work to deadlines. 

This role can also be open to an experienced Account Executive who has run multiple, full renewals and placed new business, looking to step up into full portfolio management. Tier 1 is still essential and salary on offer may be reduced in line with experience level and capabilities.
