Industrial Maintenance Electrician (Night Shift) (FMCG)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Electricians to provide night shift coverage at a continuous manufacturing facility operating 24/7. You'll play a key role in monitoring production systems, responding to equipment faults, and ensuring plant operations continue safely and efficiently throughout the night within a PLC-controlled manufacturing environment where reliability is critical.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the continuous operation of kilns, dryers and automated material handling systems

• Respond to plant alarms and complete authorised equipment resets

• Diagnose and rectify electrical, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical faults within your level of competency

• Perform breakdown maintenance to minimise production downtime

• Escalate major electrical, mechanical or gas-related issues when required

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate effectively during shift handovers

• Work safely and independently while supporting a continuous manufacturing operation

About you

• Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence

• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Industrial Maintenance Electrician

• Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Experience working with PLC-controlled automated machinery

• Exposure to motors, drives, sensors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

• Comfortable working independently on night shift

• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving

• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
