Twenty-eight study centres. Five states. Thousands of students who chose to stay in their home communities and study anyway. We are the coordinating body for the Country Universities Centres and we’re looking for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator (12-month parental leave contract) to be the creative and operational engine behind the Country Universities Centre’s (CUC) external presence.
About the Role
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to take ownership of the CUC brand. The role involves day-to-day content creation and communication across the CUC's channels to grow the public profile, strengthen key stakeholder awareness and amplify the collective impact of Centres across regional Australia.
As the Coordinator you will not only deliver high-quality content but also undertake the research, analysis of trends and recommend new initiatives that may improve engagement, reach and impact. You will be responsible for driving awareness, engagement and advocacy through proactive, strategic and impactful marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coordinate and deliver marketing and communications campaigns that build awareness, engagement and support advocacy activities
Manage CUC Central’s content and campaign calendar, ensuring activities align with network priorities
Maintain and grow CUC’s digital presence across social media channels, website and email marketing
Produce and distribute newsletters for key stakeholder audiences
Identify, capture and develop compelling student, Centre and community stories that demonstrate impact and support advocacy, engagement and promotional activities
Monitor campaign performance and sector trends, research new opportunities and promotional initiatives, and provide recommendations to improve engagement, marketing effectiveness, and organisational outcomes
Maintain CUC Central's brand identity and reputation, ensuring consistency, quality and professionalism across all communications and marketing activities
Maintain and evolve brand assets, templates and resources for the CUC network
What You’ll Bring
Demonstrated strategic approach and skills in content production including but not limited to design, writing, social media, newsletter management
Demonstrated experience and confidence in managing social media platforms, email marketing campaigns and organisational websites
Strong storytelling capability to capture and communicate human impact in plain, engaging language
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign) and Canva, with the ability to produce high-quality materials
Ability to analyse data, campaign performance and market insights to inform decision-making, build engagement
Ability to translate organisational values and stories into engaging, well-designed communication assets
Highly organised, with the ability to manage regular production and content schedules and competing requests
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across a geographically dispersed network
Genuine interest in regional communities and the people who live and study in them
Desirable Experience
Experience with WordPress or other website content management and development platforms
Background in marketing, journalism, media or community communications
Familiarity with regional Australia and the tertiary education sector
