Facilities Compliance Advisor

Band 4 – Salary from $102,958 + Super

TasNetworks is seeking a detail‑driven and highly organised Facilities Compliance Advisor to support the safe, compliant and efficient operation of our critical infrastructure environments. In this role, you will lead the development, documentation and continuous improvement of business processes that underpin compliance across facilities, substations and data centres. Our requirements within the Security of Critical Infrastructure will be growing and this role will grow with those changes.

Working closely with the Facilities Team Leader and stakeholders across operational, risk, compliance and regulatory functions, you will ensure our processes are clear, consistent, audit‑ready and aligned with organisational and legislative requirements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, clarity, stakeholder engagement and enabling operational teams through high‑quality documentation and process governance.

What you’ll do

• Lead process development and improvement — Design, document and continuously refine business processes aligned to critical infrastructure security obligations and organisational requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation suites — Develop SOPs, work instructions, decision trees, RACIs and quick reference guides for facilities, data centre and substation operations.
• Conduct process mapping — Analyse current and future state processes, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and recommend practical improvement opportunities.
• Manage documentation frameworks — Establish and maintain a centralised process and documentation library that ensures consistency, accessibility and lifecycle management.
• Engage stakeholders — Work closely with operational teams, compliance, risk and leadership to socialise processes, gather feedback and support adoption.
• Deliver training and embedding activities — Create and deliver training materials to ensure processes are understood and applied consistently across the organisation.
• Ensure audit readiness — Maintain documentation, records and evidence in a structured, easily retrievable format for internal audits, regulatory inspections and due diligence activities.
• Monitor compliance and performance — Track process adoption, identify barriers and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency.
• Support regulatory reporting — Coordinate data collection, validation and submission for annual regulatory reporting activities.
• Stay across legislative changes — Maintain awareness of relevant standards, legislation and industry practices, translating updates into actionable process changes.
• Prepare governance documentation — Produce reports, insights and supporting materials for governance forums, audits and regulatory engagement.

About you

You are a structured, analytical and proactive professional with strong experience in process improvement, business analysis or governance within a regulated or complex operational environment. You bring clarity to ambiguity, enjoy working with diverse stakeholders, and take pride in producing high‑quality documentation that enables compliance and operational excellence.

You will bring:

• Relevant qualifications — Tertiary qualifications in Business, Risk, Security or a related discipline (desirable).
• Process improvement experience — Background in business analysis, process mapping or governance roles.
• Compliance and regulatory awareness — Understanding of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and associated frameworks.
• Documentation capability — Ability to produce structured, accurate and accessible documentation.
• Stakeholder engagement skills — Strong facilitation and relationship‑building capability across all organisational levels.
• Analytical strength — Skilled at interpreting information from different stakeholders and translating it into practical solutions.
• Attention to detail — High level of accuracy in documentation, reporting and record management.
• Communication skills — Clear written and verbal communication suited to diverse audiences.
