Aged Care Cook/Chef (Permanent Full-time or Part-time)

We are hiring experienced Cook/Chefs with aged care experience to join our team at Altaira in a rewarding permanent part-time or full-time role. Work within respected aged care facilities across Adelaide and regional South Australia, creating nutritious meals for seniors.

Must be familiar with:

• diet types

• diet textures

• fluid consistencies

• reading resident food and fluid care plans

• plating food in a neat and appealing manner

What you'll do:

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with client menus and requirements

• Support residents’ nutrition and dietary needs in accordance with care plans

• Liaise with care and nursing staff regarding special dietary requirements

• Maintain strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and safe work practices

• Supervise kitchen staff to ensure safe food preparation and service standards

• Monitor food storage, rotation, and compliance with Food Safety Standards

• Ensure cleanliness and safety of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas

• Provide leadership through clear communication and team support

• Comply with Quality Management systems, policies, and procedures

• Maintain a safe work environment in line with Work Health & Safety requirements

• Identify and report workplace hazards

• Uphold strict privacy and confidentiality standards at all times

• Perform duties in accordance with organisational, legal, and food safety regulations.
