It’s an opportunity to help build one of Australia’s first culturally responsive Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) recovery organisations dedicated to supporting African Australian and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

As our Founding Team Leader, you won’t be stepping into an established organisation with fixed systems and processes. You’ll be joining at the beginning of an exciting journey—working alongside the CEO to build a high-performing organisation that genuinely changes lives.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

1. Provide leadership, supervision and support to a multidisciplinary team

2. Build a positive, high-performing workplace culture

3. Coordinate day-to-day program delivery across AOD and mental health services

4. Work alongside the CEO to develop organisational systems, policies and procedures

5. Drive continuous quality improvement and service innovation

6. Develop strong partnerships with community organisations and key stakeholders

7. Monitor program performance, outcomes and reporting requirements

8. Ensure services are delivered safely, ethically and in accordance with funding agreements

9. Support workforce recruitment, onboarding and professional development

10. Help guide the strategic growth of the organisation

About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in environments where they can build, improve and lead.

You’ll bring:

Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams

Experience managing community services, AOD, mental health or related programs

Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills

Experience developing systems, improving processes or leading organisational change

Excellent organisational and project management skills

Confidence making decisions in a dynamic and evolving environment

Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills

A genuine commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred practice

Passion for making a meaningful difference within diverse communities

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, AOD, Nursing Allied Heath or a related discipline

Minimum three years’ leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, programs or services

Current Victorian Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Current Working with Children Check

Current Police Check

NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
