Boilermaker / Workshop Fabricator

About the role

Ace Mechanical Solutions is seeking an experienced Workshop Fabricator / Boilermaker to join our team. This role is suited to a tradesperson with experience in light to medium fabrication, workshop repairs and general maintenance. The successful applicant will work on a variety of mining and mobile plant equipment, with a strong focus on quality, safety and productivity. You will be required to work independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to complete jobs to a high standard and within required timeframes.

Key responsibilities

• Light to medium fabrication and workshop repairs

• General structural and mechanical fabrication

• Crack repairs on mining and mobile plant equipment

• Welding, cutting, gouging and general workshop duties

• Repair and modification of components and equipment

• Working safely and maintaining high standards of workmanship

• Following job specifications and workplace procedures

About you

• Trade qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator – Certificate III or similar

• Experience in light to medium fabrication

• Mobile plant maintenance experience desirable

• Heavy fabrication experience desirable

• Experience with crack repairs on mining equipment

• Competent in MIG, TIG and stick welding

• Experience with Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)

• Experience with oxy and plasma cutting and gouging

• Experience with lancing and pin removal

• Ability to read and interpret drawings

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
