Home Migration Services We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to perform skilled carpentry work associated with demolition, structural alteration, refurbishment and construction projects. Benefits

  Task & responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials.
• Construct, install, repair and alter wall frames, roof framing, flooring, doors, windows and other building components.
• Build and install temporary supports, hoardings, barriers, formwork and protective structures.
• Undertake controlled dismantling and deconstruction of timber-framed structures.
• Identify structural elements and ensure temporary supports are installed before components are removed.
• Repair and reinstate structures affected by demolition or alteration work.
• Install fixtures, fittings, internal linings, cladding and finishing components.
• Select appropriate materials, tools and construction methods for each project.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it is level, secure and compliant with plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with supervisors, demolition workers, tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Maintain tools, equipment and a safe, organised work area.
• Follow workplace health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.

  Qualification & experience Applicants must have:

• a relevant Certificate III qualification in Carpentry or an equivalent trade qualification;
• at least two years of relevant post-qualification employment experience as a Carpenter;
• demonstrated experience in structural carpentry, alterations, refurbishment or demolition-related carpentry;
• the ability to interpret plans, take accurate measurements and work independently;
• sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and workplace safety requirements;
• experience using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment;
• strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; and
• a current driver’s licence.
