Backed by a strong pipeline of work that includes HV transmission, substation construction, wind farm and solar delivery, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integration, our client is scaling up their project management capabilities to meet the increasing demand for renewable energy projects.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of HV transmission and renewable energy projects. This is a critical, hands-on role in driving construction programs, engaging contractors, and overseeing system integration from project initiation to completion, including energisation.

Responsibilities

As Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, you will:

• Manage end-to-end delivery of HV transmission and renewable energy construction projects, ensuring scope, program, budget, and quality are achieved.
• Oversee construction activities across civil, electrical, and system integration workstreams, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Coordinate system integration activities across HV electrical, protection and control, SCADA, and commissioning to meet energisation targets.
• Lead contractor and subcontractor management, including scope definition, progress tracking, performance evaluation, and managing variations.
• Maintain project schedules, risk registers, and cost forecasts while delivering accurate reports to senior leadership and clients.
• Act as a key point in interface management across multidisciplinary teams, resolving potential technical and program conflicts.
• Liaise with clients, utilities, Network Service Providers (NSPs), and regulators to oversee approvals, hold points, and final project acceptance.
• Emphasize compliance with WHS legislation, environmental standards, and project-specific quality requirements.
• Play a key role in bid and tender activities, including program development, methodology input, and resource planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and project staff, fostering a collaborative and skilled delivery team.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Proven experience delivering HV transmission, substation, or large-scale renewable energy projects in a project management or senior site leadership role.
• A strong understanding of system integration related to HV electrical projects, including protection and control, SCADA, and commissioning.
• Experience managing complex construction programs, concurrent workstreams, and subcontractor relationships.
• Solid commercial knowledge, with exposure to EPC, NEC, FIDIC, or AS 4000 contract frameworks.
• Strong capabilities in liaising with clients, utilities, and NSPs during construction and commissioning stages.
• Proficiency in project management tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent scheduling software.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on producing concise reports and documentation.
• A versatile, site-based mindset, capable of working across diverse project locations when needed.

On a Day-to-Day Basis

Your role will involve:

• Coordinating activities across multiple construction workstreams to ensure seamless progress.
• Monitoring project schedules and budgets, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Engaging contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams for optimal execution.
• Providing regular project updates and reports for senior management and clients.
• Troubleshooting technical and operational challenges to maintain momentum.
• Enforcing strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality compliance measures on-site.
• Collaborating with utilities, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders to secure essential approvals.
