Step into a rewarding critical care nursing role with one of Australia’s dedicated veterinary ICU teams. Pet ICU Underwood is looking for an experienced Part-Time Core Pet ICU Nurse to support the delivery of exceptional care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

This is an opportunity to work with advanced critical care cases while working alongside experienced ECC veterinarians and nurses.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to ICU and emergency patientsMonitor complex cases and provide ongoing patient assessmentAdminister medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocolsCare for critically unwell patients and perform or assist with advanced nursing procedures, including but not limited to:Transfusion medicineHigh-flow nasal oxygen therapyFeeding tube placement and managementAdvanced vascular and arterial access and managementAdvanced airway careMechanical ventilationAdvanced cardiopulmonary careCommunicate effectively with clients and the veterinary teamProvide strong clinical leadership during shifts, supporting and mentoring junior nurses while fostering a collaborative and positive team environmentChampion exceptional patient care through teamwork, communication and adherence to ICU best practicesMaintain excellent standards of cleanliness and infection control

What We’re Looking For

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary TechnologyMinimum 2 years’ experience in ICU, ECC or a similar critical care environmentStrong organisational and communication skillsAbility to remain calm and effective in a busy clinical settingCommitment to continuous learning and professional developmentStrong leadership skills with a team-first approach and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomesECC qualifications, Elevate ECC participation, or additional critical care training will be highly regarded but are not essential

The Roster

Part-time position with 40 hours per fortnight, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts14 shifts across a 4-week roster with rotating starts at 5:00am, 1:00pm and 9:00pmIncludes weekends and public holidays
