About the role
Work where you live, either full-time or part-time (min 4 days)!
Are you an NDIS-suitable Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner?
Would you like to join a progressive team that will support and value you?
Work in this hybrid role utilising your Positive Behaviour Support skills!
We are looking for Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide services to our participants in the Greater Melbourne Area. Either North Side or West Side. But if you are not in these areas, we welcome your application too.
If you are a Behaviour Support Practitioner located in Melbourne and want to work where you live, apply now!
We have a particular need for a practitioner with experience working with all ages; however, we encourage those who specialise in specific age groups and complex diagnoses and behaviours to apply as well.
About us:
We are an NDIS-registered provider, and we support participants throughout NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, ACT and TAS, and we work with individuals of all ages, all diagnoses, and all behaviours.
We utilise an array of technologies to allow you to focus on delivering exceptional services in an efficient way – you probably didn’t get into this field for the admin time, so we work to keep that to a minimum!
We have a best-in-class induction training program to set you up for success.
About the role:
This role has the flexibility to be either full-time or part-time (min 4 days). This is a hybrid working-from-home and mobile role. You will be based at home (no commute!) and will go out to visit people in their homes, schools, workplaces, programs, and in the community.
Being a Behaviour Support Practitioner will involve working with people and their support networks to bring about behavioural change. We do this by understanding the relationship between a person’s environment (social and physical) and their behaviour, and then influencing that person’s environment so that it sets them up for success. Another important part of the role is supporting skill development to ensure people have effective ways to get their needs met.
Our practitioners meet with clients, conduct assessments, analyse behavioural data, develop strategies and Comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans (CPBSPs), support the implementation of those strategies and plans, monitor progress, and review where necessary. The role involves other elements, too – connecting with other team members, attending training, participating in projects or research, facilitating workshops, and more. We are proud to have a diverse and passionate team, and we support people to lean into their strengths and interests.
About you:
You are an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner registered as a suitable NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner, and you have an NDIS practitioner number
You value integrity, collaboration, and transparency
You have relevant undergraduate qualifications (Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Early Childhood, Teaching, Special Education, Social Work, Counselling, or similar)
Ideally, you have postgraduate qualifications or are working toward them
You are passionate about this work – the science and the people
You are friendly, empathetic, and a clear communicator
You have experience working with children and people with disability, and you are familiar with the NDIS
You have experience in identifying Restrictive Practices and developing Interim Plans within the NDIS timeframes required
You have experience undertaking functional assessments and developing CPBSPs
You have experience in coaching families and support workers, ideally in implementing CPBSPs that you have written
You have a current driver’s license and an insured roadworthy vehicle
Current NDIS Worker Screening, as well as a current Working with Children Check
What we offer our employees:
Great remuneration and benefits
Work where you live!
Flexible work schedule (manage your roster of work around your life)
