About the Role
On behalf of our client, an artisan bakery renowned for its wood-fired sourdough and commitment to traditional methods, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager. This role ensures our client’s premium products consistently meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance
• Schedule and conduct detailed audit inspections across production, storage, and dispatch, analyzing batch data and documentation to verify adherence to recipes and hygiene protocols.
• Identify variations in ingredient sourcing, fermentation times, or packaging, flagging high-risk areas to prevent quality drift.
• Recommend corrective action plans and process improvements to resolve non-compliance, such as adjusting proofing schedules or sanitation procedures.
Technical Systems & Troubleshooting
• Diagnose and resolve system issues affecting ovens, mixers, or temperature monitoring software, coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime.
• Test and identify functionality errors in inventory or scheduling systems, ensuring code and configurations perform to specification under quality protocols.
• Perform architecture reviews of hardware and software used in order management and production tracking, advising on upgrades or replacements.
Training & Documentation
• Develop and deliver technical guidance and training on operational procedures, including equipment use and quality checkpoints.
• Create and review procedural manuals, technical reports, and maintenance logs for ovens, proofers, and refrigeration units.
Requirements
• Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years QA experience in food manufacturing, preferably bakery.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and auditing principles.
• Experience troubleshooting production software and hardware systems.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Relevant qualification to above field.
