About the role
We're a growing clinic in Mount Waverley, and we're building it with real intention. Not just in caseload numbers, but in the kind of team we want to come into every day. We know clinician burnout is real, and a lot of it comes down to things that are actually fixable. Too much time on the road. Not enough breathing room in the day. Not enough connection with the people you work alongside.
So that's what we've focused on. Most of our work happens from the clinic, which means less time behind the wheel, less money spent on petrol, and more energy left for the clients and colleagues who need it. We want you to finish your day tired from doing meaningful clinical work, not from sitting in traffic.
We also care a lot about culture. We want a team that checks in with each other, shares wins and hard cases over coffee, and actually feels like a team, not just a group of clinicians who happen to share a waiting room.
The location helps too. We're right in the heart of Mount Waverley, walking distance to the station, surrounded by the shopping centre and more cafes than you could work your way through in a year. Grab a coffee before clinic, duck out for lunch somewhere new every day, or just enjoy not having to drive to get anywhere. It's a genuinely nice place to spend your working week.
The clinic itself was designed with clinicians in mind, not just clients. It's warm and comfortable, with soft carpet you can actually sit and work on the floor with kids, plenty of natural light, and rooms that feel inviting rather than clinical. It's a space we're proud to spend our days in, and we want you to feel the same.
About UsApproach Speech Pathology is a growing clinic located in Mount Waverley within a vibrant community. We are deeply committed to partnering with families to provide meaningful, high quality support that makes a lasting difference.
We value cultural and linguistic diversity and recognise the important influence of culture on communication, learning, and family dynamics. Our practice is grounded in a strengths-based, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed approach. We celebrate each individual's unique strengths and work collaboratively with clients and their families to nurture their abilities.
As a growing clinic, we are intentionally building a workplace that prioritises clinician wellbeing, sustainable workloads, and meaningful professional growth.
About the RoleWe are seeking a qualified Speech Pathologist to join our team in a permanent position (subject to probation), with flexibility for full-time or part-time arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a paediatric caseload, with scope to include adults if desired
Conduct assessments and deliver evidence based intervention
Provide services primarily from our clinic, with some educational and community based sessions
Develop and implement individualised therapy plans
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards
Collaborate with families, educators, and allied health professionals
Demonstrate strong organisational, time management, and written communication skills
A varied caseload of NDIS and private clients, with flexibility to develop the clinical areas that interest you
Local, low travel caseloads. Our clinic first model means most of your week is based on site, so you spend less time and money driving between appointments and have more predictable, sustainable days
A team that actually connects. Regular team catch-ups, shared lunches, and a genuine open-door culture. We want you to feel part of something, not isolated in a caseload
Wellbeing that's built in, not just talked about. Balanced caseloads with protected time for documentation, preparation, and professional development, so you're not chasing your tail after hours
Autonomy without micromanagement. We trust your clinical judgement and support you when you need it, not the other way around
A warm, comfortable clinic space designed with clinician wellbeing in mind.
An unbeatable location. Walking distance to Mount Waverley station, right in the middle of the vibrant Mount Waverley shopping centre, with plenty of cafes and food options on your doorstep
Competitive remuneration aligned with experience and contribution, including 12% superannuation, 4 weeks annual leave, and performance-based bonuses
Regular, meaningful supervision tailored to your experience level, with clear guidance for clinical confidence and growth
A generous professional development allowance, plus real opportunities to grow into leadership, supervision, or specialised clinical interests over time
A diverse caseload, including culturally and linguistically diverse families
Supportive, accessible leadership with strong clinical expertise and an open door
We are looking for a clinician who is:
Curious, compassionate, and motivated to keep learning
Confident working independently while genuinely valuing collaboration and team connection
Experienced in paediatric or adult service delivery (minimum 2 years preferred)
Comfortable with mostly clinic-based work, with occasional community sessions (desirable)
Committed to neurodiversity affirming, strengths-based practice
Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current National Police Check
Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Full Australian working rights
Please note, overseas applicants must hold recognised qualifications and be eligible for registration and practice in Australia at the time of application.
